Xiaohongshu AI Labels: What Image Metadata Cleanup Can Change

Learn how embedded EXIF, C2PA and generation records differ from a Xiaohongshu AI notice, and how to inspect, clean and recheck an image before sharing it.

File records and platform notices are separate

An image can contain EXIF, C2PA Content Credentials or generation parameters. An AI notice displayed on Xiaohongshu belongs to the platform interface. Cleaning a downloaded file cannot directly change a notice on an existing post or guarantee how a later upload will be labeled.

This site inspects readable file records. It does not manage Xiaohongshu accounts or edit labels on published posts. Refer to the platform's current in-app guidance for its posting rules.

Inspect and clean the image file

  1. Keep an untouched original and prepare a separate copy for sharing.
  2. Open the image metadata remover and add a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF.
  3. Click the file status badge to review metadata, generation records and the available fields.
  4. Choose Remove metadata and download the result. This clears supported ordinary metadata too; it is not an AI-fields-only operation.
  5. Clear the workspace, add the downloaded file and check whether the original fields still appear. Review the picture visually as well.

What does a clean report establish?

A report with no supported metadata means this scanner did not read those fields from that copy. It does not prove the image was created without AI or predict a platform's label. Pixel watermarks, other hidden data and records already held by a platform are separate.

Some NovelAI PNGs store parameters in Alpha low bits. This site supports a specific stealth_pngcomp format; the hidden-data visual guide explains the difference.

Common questions

Does renaming the file clean it?

No. A filename is separate from the embedded records inside the file.

Will taking a screenshot always remove a platform notice?

No. A screenshot creates a new picture file, but a platform notice is not simply one field in that file.

Are my images uploaded here?

No. Inspection and processing run in your browser.
